Learning Spaces at St Pius X School
In 2021 the old junior classroom was refurbished into a large modern learning space, incorporating three learning areas.
This space was named Nghare o te Ako – The Forest of Learning.
This space is used as a nest for our Tui class, which includes students from New Entrants to Year Three.
The teaching team is lead by teacher Liezl Ferrieria and two part teacher aides Beryl O’Neil and Sean Felise. Individual attention is given to individual student’s development.
The school uses the MultiLit structured literacy program and Prime Mathematics in Tui class. Both these programs were introduced in 2025 and are proving very successful.
