Years 1-3
Home learning for the younger children consists of reading texts, sight words, and poems. Home learning packs that reinforce aspects of literacy and math are available on request.
Years 4-6
Students are encouraged to read for pleasure, be active and look for ways to serve - at home and in the community. From time to time, students may bring things home to talk about with their whānau. If you wish to have other home learning provided, please ask the classroom teacher.
Reporting to Parents and Whānau
Parents and whānau, students and teachers meet together in both Term 1 and Term 3 to discuss children's progress and to set goals which are recorded and worked on throughout the year.
Teachers evaluate the child's achievement of the set goals and their progress in attainment of knowledge, understanding and skills according to the New Zealand Education Guidelines.
Additional interviews may be arranged if the need arises.
Written reports go home to whānau in early Term 2 and at the end of Term 4.
